Aurora-Con 2009 Mascot Contest Rules

The Mascot should reflect an autumn theme for Aurora-Con. Submitted art must contain no background, be full body characters, and should be 8 ½ X 11 in size or larger and at least 300dpi and colored. The Mascot will be used in printed materials as well as online and potentially on t-shirts and other promotional items. No animated formats or copyright protected characters may be submitted; all art and characters must be original compositions. Artists may not post their entries or links to their entries on Aurora-Con forums or other Aurora-Con space. If an artist is found linking their entries from the Aurora-Con forum they will be removed from the contest. Likewise, any artists found publicly defaming other artists on Aurora-Con forums will have their entries removed from the contest. Any nudity (implied or actual) or drug paraphernalia or other non family friendly content in submissions will be grounds for removal of those images from the contest. Aurora-Con reserves the right to remove any submission it deems inappropriate.

The winning mascot will be chosen by vote of registered Aurora-Con Staff. The new mascot will be revealed at 2008 closing ceremonies.

We will also have a contest for those entrants 12 and under (must be 12 or younger past August 2008). If you are interested in submitting to this category please include your birth date with your entry and a note from your parent indicating their approval of your participation in the 2009 Aurora-Con Mascot Contest and their contact information.

Submissions:

Artists may send in more then one entry, but can only win once in the contest.

All entries become property of Aurora-Con for use in promoting the convention, website, and related activities.

Digital submissions should be copied to disk or CD and sent to the same address as hand drawn submissions. All entries are required to include name, address, age and email address (this information is for our use only and will not be shared):
